Temperature Tolerance of Brass
Brass is a copper-zinc alloy with good heat resistance. Brass pipe fittings can handle high temperatures without softening. The material maintains its strength up to 400°F (204°C). However, the internal seals (if any) have lower limits. For solid brass fittings without seals, the metal itself performs well.
Standard Hot Water Temperature Ranges
Residential hot water systems operate at 120-140°F (49-60°C). Commercial systems may reach 160-180°F (71-82°C). Brass pipe fittings easily handle these temperatures. The material does not degrade or lose strength. This makes brass a reliable choice for hot water distribution.

Thermal Expansion Considerations
